What is Search Engine Optimisation (SEO)?

Search Engine Optimisation is all about getting your website higher up in the search results on search engines such as Google. The higher up the results you are the more traffic (and customers) you’re likely to get. There are many aspects that go into achieving good SEO, and one of the most important is the copy (words) on your website. Focus on well written, keyword rich and appropriate content is the key. SEO is a specialised service and is an ongoing process that requires constant updating over time to achieve the best results

Can you write the content for my site?

Yes. Most business people are not adept at creating written content. I have over 20 years experience writing copy for brochures, advertisements and websites. To do so I would need to conduct a discovery session and work closely with staff. That takes time and effort and is charged accordingly.

What is a Discovery Session

For a website to be successful it needs to meet the goals of the business and provide a benefit to their customers. Ideally, it should be an investment that grows customers and profit, not simply a static online brochure. My discovery sessions are designed to investigate all the various functions of the business and the goals the owners are trying to achieve and ensure that my proposed website design answers those needs. It is vital to have the key business stakeholders and owners present for the session to be useful. Discovery sessions are a paid service and the deliverables are in the form of a written proposal based on the content extrapolated from your session. The price of the discovery varies depending on the organisation and the time it will take. Typical discovery sessions are no shorter than a half day. I usually discount the price of the discovery against the website charge if you decide to proceed or you can use the proposal as an excellent tool to shop around for another site developer if you choose.

Can you design my logo?

Absolutely – I love branding businesses with a new look and feel. You can see some examples here.

What is a domain name?

A domain name is your address on the internet. Typically this would be something like www.yourcompany.com.au

Web hosting is a service that allows your website to be viewed on the Internet. It’s basically a computer housed in a data centre that runs your website and email.
